Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, asked ‘for more’ from two of his players over the last week and he feels he got it.

The players in question are Dale Tonge and Stephen Brogan.

Brogan, who Robins has brought up through the Youth ranks, was asked to produce against Bury on Tuesday – and the nineteen year old certainly did that and was in fact, Rotherham Vital’s Man of the Match. ‘I asked for more from him after the Grimsby match,’ Robins told The Advertiser, ‘and I thought he dealt with the threat of Nicky Adams, who is quick and tricky and full of confidence, extremely well. Stephen was excellent against him.’

‘I’ve been wanting more from Dale (Tonge),’ Robins said, ‘and he responded really well.
He has so much to offer and if he takes responsibility he can be an outstanding full back. You could see the potential on Tuesday night when he took responsibility and got the ball and passed it like he did.

‘At the moment he is a good player – but he has the potential to be and excellent player.’
