Rotherham United striker, Richie Barker, is looking forward to returning to where his career began tomorrow.

The Millers make the journey to Moss Rose and Barker says he loved his time there. ‘It was brilliant and it’s where I started to carve out my reputation as a goal scorer in the lower divisions.

‘It’s a great club and they are a good bunch of people there and I always look forward to going back and seeing them. The fans have always been spot on with me when I’ve gone back although my last visit was with Mansfield when I scored two goals in the last few minutes to win the game!

‘I owe the club a lot and I have nothing but good memories of the place.’

Barker joined the Millers a few weeks ago, from Hartlepool, initially on loan until January when he hopes to sign a permanent deal. He came on from the bench in Tuesday nights win over Bury and admitted that he didn’t touch the ball in the eighteen-yard box in the twenty minutes or so he was on, saying, ‘that’s pretty hard going for a centre-forward.

‘I think Bury will be up there this season, their passing, sharpness and delivery into the box was very very good. But it was all about us grinding it out on Tuesday and we got the result we wanted in the end.

‘Tomorrow will be another hard game in a short space of time and it will be a tester on the legs. But, we’ve got a big enough squad to get through it.’
