Rotherham United’s Assistant Manager Richie Barker and Shrewsbury Town Manager Paul Hurst had ‘words’ after the Shrews two-one win at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

Former team mates had a bit of a spat when the whistle went due to what Hursty thinks was a bit of ungentlemanly conduct by the Millers.

Who started it we don’t really know although former Miller Hurst told Paul Davis of The Star, ‘We kicked the ball out for an injured player at the end and they haven`t thrown it back. It has soured it for me and, in the future, if that’s the case we won’t kick it out again.

‘I had a few words with Richie Barker at the end but, as far as I’m concerned, it’s gone.’

When asked about the incident Rotherham Manager Paul Warne said he didn’t see it saying, ‘In the heat of the battle people say things they don’t mean but I can’t imagine these two falling out, they’ve been friends for thirty-five years.’
