Rotherham United striker David Ball said he thought the Millers were the better side in the first half in their one-all home draw with Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

Speaking after he scored the late goal to get the point, Ball told Radio Sheffield, I thought we shaved the first half and the second half was a well fought game.

‘I think they got a bit lucky with their goal which bobbled through to him although he took it well but we showed character to get back into the game and we could even have gone on to win it.

‘As a striker you’ve always got to think you are going to get a chance and when Jono (Jonson Clarke-Harris) came on his energy got us up the pitch and we got some energy off the crowd and I was delighted to get the last touch. It was great to score in front of that many fans and see the pleasure on people’s faces and I enjoyed every minute of it.

‘I’m happy to finally get my Rotherham career going and show people what type of player I am. And I’m lucky enough to have enough good players around me who will create the chances I’m getting.

‘You know, as a team, we’ve got to believe that we are as good as the people above us. We were frustrated with the run we went on when we weren’t picking up points because we know we are a good side with great staff and a great Manager and as players we will fight to the end.’
