Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans says that he wants good competition in the midfield next year, and will probably be looking to fetch another body in to play in that position.

Michael O’Connor joined on Wednesday as well as the Millers having Mark Bradley, Jason Taylor, Danny Schofield and Ben Pringle all vying for a midfield start.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after signing O’Connor, the Millers boss said, ‘We want good, solid competition in there next season and not just two or three options and we are talking to people now.’

Asked if the next midfielder to sign in would be to play alongside O’Connor, Evans said, ‘Maybe to compete with him as well. Don’t forget we’ve got other players who can play in there and they are players we are looking forward to working with.’
