Rotherham United haven’t been exactly ‘busy’ since the season ended regarding fetching players in although Manager Paul Warne has brought in four players and is hoping to get in more.

May saw defender Michael Ikiehwie join from Tranmere Town with it being nearly three weeks before Darren Potter, a midfielder from MK Dons signed in.

Within a few days both Australian midfielder Ryan Williams, a midfielder, did a hop, skip and jump across South Yorkshire from Barnsley with striker David Ball, who took his time, eventually joining from League One rivals Fleetwood Town.

Warney has said that he would like to fetch in a goalscoring midfielder and also striker Callum Morris could still be in his thoughts – whether on loan or a permanent move will depend on Norwich, I would think. And wouldn’t it be great to see Tom Adeyemi back in a Rotherham shirt? Stranger things have happened and, up to now, he’s not gone elsewhere although he has recently been linked with Ipswich.

On the opposite side the Millers released first team players Lee Camp, Stephen Kelly, Kelvin Wilson, Joel Ekstrand, Tom Thorpe and Chris Dawson.

Goalkeeper Camp has joined Cardiff City but, so far, nothing seems to have happened to the other five. Thorpe spent his last months with the Millers on loan with Bolton and seemed to do well so it probably wouldn’t be much of a surprise if he ends up back there – ironic if that’s so with Rotherham not thinking he was good enough for the Championship and he gets back there before the Millers.

Although midfielder Richie Smallwood was offered a new contract at the New York Stadium he turned it down and signed a deal with Blackburn Rovers who were relegated with Rotherham at the end of last season.

And Danny Ward has finally joined Lee Camp at Cardiff City, after, what seems like a lot of argy bargy but probably just down to sorting a contract out.

So, what do you think of what’s happened on the transfer front with Rotherham up to now? How many more players do you think we need? What positions need filling or need to have a back-up?
