Rotherham v Derby – What Do The Stats Look Like

Rotherham United took all three points at Pride Park this afternoon to make Wayne Rooney’s first game in charge as permanent manager end in defeat.

Looking at the match day stats they tell us that the Rams had the majority of possession with sixty-four per cent while the Millers had more success in the duels at fifty-one per cent, both on the ground and in the air.

Seven corners went to the hosts with Rotherham having just two with our passing accuracy coming out at sixty per cent and fifty-two per cent in our opponents half which was seven per cent more than Derby.

Attacking wide Rotherham had ten shots at goal of which three were on target with Derby’s four on target coming from nine shots. Of those ten shots, nine of those were in the box.

The fouls count comes in at fifteen for the Rams and two less for Rotherham while there were two yellow cards to Derby and one for Rotherham – though if we’d had VAR I’m betting that Derby would have been looking at a red card too, but we didn’t so there is nothing that can be done about that.

A great three points for Rotherham this afternoon and a good result following on from our good play away at Everton last week in the FA Cup. Now we have to do the same against Stoke City on Tuesday night.
