Rotherham United Nostalgia Society have altered their May meeting to WEDNESDAY, 9th May and not the usual Thursday.

This is because the New York Stadium hosts the Switzerland v England U17’s European Championship game on their usual meet day of Thursday.

This months guest is former Miller Paul Stancliffe.

Central-Defender Paul spent seven years with Rotherham, making his debut in the old Division Three on the opening day of the 1975/6 season away at Brighton.

Paul played over two hundred and eighty games in a Millers shirt before being transferred to Sheffield United during the summer of 1982 and eventually became captain of the Blades where he helped them to two successive promotions.

He had a short loan spell back with the Millers before having a short spell with Wolves. 1991 saw him join York City where he captained them to promotion via Wembley in 1993.

After hanging up his boots Stan stayed with the Minstermen as Youth Development Officer.

Wednesday’s meeting is at the Reach Club on Kimberworth Road where it is 8pm for an 8.30pm start.

All Welcome!
