Rotherham United Nostalgia Society welcome former Millers striker and Manager Ronnie Moore to their meeting this evening.

Ronnie joined the Millers in 1980 and soon became a fans’ hero going on to make one hundred and twenty-five league appearances scoring fifty-two goals.

After leaving Rotherham he went on to play for Charlton, Rochdale and Tranmere before hanging up his boots in 1989.

Ronnie went on to spend nine years as Assistant Manager at Prenton Park before having a spell in the hot seat with Southport.

In 1997 he was back at Millmoor, this time in the dugout as Manager guiding the Millers to back-to-back promotions from Division Three to Division One.

2005 saw him leave Rotherham and join Oldham before he moved back to Tranmere. Ronnie was confirmed as Manager of Rotherham for a second time in September 2009 taking the Millers to the League Two Play-Off at Wembley which saw them lose to Dagenham and Redbridge despite coming from behind twice.

Ronnie’s second spell in charge of the Millers came to an end in March 2011 after a five-nil defeat to local rivals Chesterfield. In 2012 he was back with Tranmere and has also managed Hartlepool and Eastleigh.

Tonight’s RUNS is at The Reach Club, Kimberworth where it is 8pm for an 8.30pm start.

It’s Free and All Welcome!
