Rodak And Raggett Pleased To Be Millers

|

Both Rotherham United’s latest signings got time on the pitch in last nights friendly win over Cardiff City at the New York Stadium.

Marek Rodak took his place between the sticks after half-time while defender Sean Raggett, who signed yesterday morning on a loan spell from Norwich City, came on just after the hour mark in place of Semi Ajayi.

Loud applause and cheers from the majority of the two and a half thousand fans were heard when Rodak’s name was read out before the game welcoming one of last season’s Wembley heroes home. While, to be fair, it was a bit confusing when the subs were being made as many names and numbers differed from the ones printed on the team sheets.

Before the game iFOLLOW spoke to both players with both saying they were happy to be with the Millers and both said they were ready for the step up into the Championship.

Twenty-four year old Sean, like many before him, said he was impressed with what the Gaffer had told him about his plans for next season saying that it was going to be a good opportunity for him to get game time. When asked what sort of player he was he replied, ‘an aggressive defender.’

Marek, who had played in three pre-season friendlies for his parent club Fulham, said he was pleased to be back.

Both have missed most of pre-season with Rotherham – and I’m betting they are pleased to have missed the hill running in Austria, although I imagine Warney has something planned for them – but equally both said they’d had hard pre-seasons with their own clubs.
