Rotherham United moved within 7 points of the safety zone following Tuesday night’s 1-0 victory over Play-off side Blackpool at Millmoor.

Caretaker boss Mark Robins left out youngsters Jamie Yates and Stephen Brogan, replacing them with fit again Martin Woods and Chris O’Grady.
Woods slotted straight back into his centre midfield role, while O’Grady partnered Delroy Facey in the frontline, leaving out of sorts Ian Henderson to take up his preferred wide role.

Robins had this to say about the win,
‘It was just pleasing to get three points and the second half performance,’

‘It was also the first clean sheet at home since the middle of October and that’s a frightening statistic.

‘But we defended stoutly here all night, doing so against their set-pieces which they are handy at although we still go a little deep at times which is worrying.

‘We looked solid and Craig Fleming and Ian Sharps look an outstanding partnership now and the lads at full back have done well. Che Wilson is still getting match fit, he’s decent in that position and David Worrell’s confidence is up.

‘We spoke at half-time about being more confident and it looked like we were starting to play again in the second half.’
