Richie Joins Ammies

Rotherham United loanee Richie Towell has signed for Salford City after being released by his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion.

The twenty-seven year old Republic of Ireland U21 International had two loan spells at the New York Stadium playing forty-five games in the 2017/18 season, including the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley, and thirty-four games last season.

City, who were promoted to League Two via the National League play-offs at the end of last season beating AFC Fylde, are owned by former Manchester United players David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Peter Lym

Towell came through the Youth system at Celtic going on to play one first team game for them before moving back to Ireland with Dundalk moving to the Falmer Stadium in 2015, has signed a two-year deal with the Ammies.
