Rotherham United are back on the road on Saturday when they travel to the New Meadow to take on Shrewsbury Town when the referee is Sam Purkiss from London.
After spending two years as a referee in the National League Sam was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2019 and in the only other time he was in the middle for a Millers game was in November 2021. That game was at the Kassam Stadium when the game with Oxford was a goalless draw. Of the six yellow cards that afternoon five went to Rotherham’s Wes Harding, Dan Barlaser, Ben Wiles, Mikel Miller and Ollie Rathbone.
In the five game Sam has been in charge of this season he has shown twenty-six yellow cards and one red.
Running the line on Saturday we have Joseph Pettitt and Thomas Harty and the Fourth Official will be Dale Baines.
