Rotherham United make the long trek to Hampshire on Tuesday night to take on Portsmouth in their next League One game when David Rock from Hertfordshire has the whistle.

David spent five seasons in the National/Conference leagues before becoming a Football League Referee for the 2019/20 season. Away from his official refereeing duties David works as PE Training and Development Officer for a sports education company.

This will be the second time David and the Millers have met, the first time being in October at the New York Stadium when Sunderland were the visitors. Michael Smith put the hosts in front on ten minutes with the Black Cats drawing level on twenty-four minutes thanks to a goal from Ross Stewart. Freddie Ladapo put the Millers back in front a few minutes before the end of the first half and Michael Ihiekwe made it three-one eight minutes into the second half. A late lunge on Wes Harding saw the visitors go down to ten men when Aiden McGeady saw a second yellow just before the hour mark. Both Smith and Ladapo scored another goal each giving Rotherham a five-one win and a move up to fourth place.

Of the thirty-one games David has been in the middle for this season he has shown a whopping one hundred and fourteen yellow cards and six red cards.

Running the line at Fratton Park we have Simon Shaw and Justin Amey with the Fourth Official being Carl Brook.
