Rotherham United’s second away trip of the week sees them in West Yorkshire taking on Huddersfield Town when Alex Chilowicz from the USA has the whistle.

Spanning a six year career as an Major League Soccer official, Alex was involved in over two hundred and thirty top flight American league games before he relocated to England in December last year. He was involved in a couple of games in League Two before his first stint with the whistle in English football was just before Christmas in a game at the Borough Sports Ground between Sutton United and Mansfield Town.

This will be the third time Alex has been in the middle for a Millers game the first on April 1st at the New York Stadium, which, to date is his only game in the Championship. Millwall were the visitors that Easter Monday and Seb Revan gave Rotherham the lead on seventy-one minutes. Ryan Longman equalised seven minutes later but a goal from Charlie Wyke four minutes from time gave Rotherham a rare win.

This season, in October, he was in charge of our game at Brisbane Road when Leyton Orient ran out one-nil winners. Of the three bookings that day Joe Powell was booked for the Millers.

Alex has shown sixty-six yellow cards and four reds in the twenty games he has been in the middle for this season.

Running the line at John Smith’s Stadium we have Daniel Woodward and Bradley Hall while the Fourth Official is Declan Bourne.
