Rotherham United welcome Crewe Alexandra to the New York Stadium on Saturday when Sam Allison is in the middle.

Working as a firefighter in Trowbridge, Sam was a semi-professional footballer and quickly rose through the ranks as an official, starting off in the National League in 2016 before becoming the first black referee to get promotion to the Football League by the  Professional Game Match Officials Limited for the start of the 2020/21 season since 2009.

This will be the first time he’s been in charge of a Millers game and has been in the middle for eight games so far this season showing thirty-one yellow cards and four red cards, three of those in the Shrewsbury v Gillingham game in August and all in time added on.

Running the line on Saturday we have Anthony Moore and Matthew Parry while Billy Smallwood is the Fourth Official.
