Rotherham United’s first home game of 2025 sees Bolton Wanderers the visitors and Alan Young from Cambridge is the referee.
Alan was on the National list of referees for over six years before becoming an EFL referee in 2018
Although this is the first time Alan has had the whistle for a game involving the Millers he has been the Fourth Official a handful of times.
Alan was the referee who made the blunder of forgetting to add on over four minutes of ‘extra’ time at the end of a first half in a Leyton Orient v Hartlepool game in November 2021 playing it at the start of the second half which saw the added on time end and the teams then change ends.
In the fourteen games he has been in the middle for this season, Alan has shown seventy-two yellow cards and one red card.
Running the line on Saturday we have Johnathon Bickerdike and Callum Gough with Paul Cooper the Fourth Official.
