Rotherham United’s second home game of the week sees Burton Albion the visitors where Sam Allison is in the middle.

Working as a firefighter in Trowbridge, Sam was a semi-professional footballer and quickly rose through the ranks as an official, starting off in the National League in 2016 before becoming the first black referee to get promotion to the Football League by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited for the start of the 2020/21 season since 2009.

The Millers and Sam met earlier this season for the first time when Crewe Alexandra were the visitors to the New York Stadium. Ollie Rathbone put the hosts in front on fifty-four minutes but as the board went up for time added on Wes Harding hauled down Chris Porter in the area with Harding seeing red and Porter scoring from the resulting penalty to earn a draw for the visitors.

Sam has been in the middle for sixteen games so far this season showing a whopping sixty-eight yellow cards and six red cards, three of them in one game.

Running the line at the New York Stadium we have Anthony Moore and Oliver Bickle with Johnathon Bickerdike the Fourth Official.
