Rotherham United welcome Tranmere Rovers to the New York Stadium for the next round of the Vertu Trophy this evening.
The Millers come into this game after having their match at Blackpool postponed due to Storm Darragh on Saturday while Rovers lost at Chesterfield.
Rovers last win was in this competition in mid-November away at Stockport with the Millers last home game being a two-one win over Lincoln City.
Speaking to the Official Site Millers Manager Steve Evans said that Rotherham have a job to do saying, ‘Tranmere have an experienced Manager and we will be taking on a good Tranmere team who will want to play tonight. But we’ve got a job to do and this will be a good build up to a real busy, but exciting, Christmas.’
For the first time in a long time Rotherham have almost a full squad to pick from for this game although Esapa Osong is missing with a groin injury. Steve Evans has also said he probably won’t risk anyone who is not one hundred per cent fit but also said that Liam Kelly is ‘fit to go’.
Tranmere Manager Nigel Adkins will be without long term injured Saidou Khan, Luke Norris and Regan Hendry and Brad Walker won’t make it for this game while Tom Davies will be given a late fitness test.
The referee for this game is Scott Tallis.
