Quick Trophy Preview – Millers v Cambridge

|

Rotherham United leave the league behind for this evening’s game which sees Cambridge United travel to the New York Stadium for this Papa John’s Trophy game.

The Millers moved up to third place in League One after Saturday’s one-nil home win over Cheltenham Town while Cambridge, who also had a one-nil home win at the weekend against Crewe Alexandra, are sitting in mid-table.

Millers Manager Paul Warne told Rotherham’s Official Site that he knows the Papa John’s Trophy is not for everyone but thinks we should all be excited at the thought of a Wembley visit. Speaking about the visitors the Millers Boss said, ‘This will be the third time we’ve faced them in just over two months and we were really made to fight for the points we got and I’m sure it will be the same in this game. They will ask us a lot of questions and we will have to be at our best to get the result we want.’

Paul Warne has suggested that he will ‘shuffle’ the pack for this game with the players who have been on the fringe possibly getting game time.

Speaking to their  Official Site Cambridge Head Coach Mark Bonner says the U’s have had two competitive games against the Millers saying, ‘Rotherham are really strong, their home form has been brilliant and they have everybody fit and available.’

Liam O’Neil is a doubt after missing the game at the weekend with illness and Sam Sherring, on loan from Bournemouth, is cup-tied having played for Accrington earlier in this competition.

Martin Coy from County Durham has the whistle tonight.
