Rotherham United make the trip to Adams Park on Saturday to take on Wycombe Wanderers for the next league game.
The Millers come into this game on the back of a two-nil Bristol Street Motors Trophy win at home to Mansfield and a goalless League draw, also at the New York Stadium, with Bristol Rovers while the Chairboys lost both their previous games – one-nil away in the Trophy to AFC Wimbledon and were on the wrong end of a three-two scoreline at home to Birmingham City.
Wycombe Manager Matt Bloomfield spoke in the Bucks Free Press saying that the summer recruitment by the Millers has been ‘very good’. ‘It’s another big game for us,’ Bloomfield said, ‘a stern test but one we are looking forward to. They’ve got some good players and will be a good side during the course of the season. We have to play like we did against Wrexham, Northampton and Wimbledon where we created opportunities but we need to turn performances into results.’
Both Bez Lubala and Brandon Hanlan are out with long term injuries for the hosts while Luke Leahy was stretchered off on Tuesday night. New loan signing Cameron Humphreys (not that one!) will probably make his debut in this game.
Millers Boss Steve Evans said that the start of the season had been ‘frustrating’ which included a ‘frustrating’ goalless draw at home to Bristol Rovers telling the Official Site that if your team isn’t making chances and not winning then you’ve got severe problems saying, ‘but we are getting chances and should have scored four at Exeter and seven or eight against Bristol Rovers. We look a real threat but there comes a time when you want those chances to be taken.
‘It will be a tough game on Saturday. They are a big, strong, physical side who have a lot about them and I like a lot of their players.’
While the Millers could be without Sean Raggett and Joe Rafferty the other injured player Joe Hungbo will be in the travelling squad. After getting a red card in the Trophy game in mid-week Alex MacDonald will be able to play in the league. One problem for Steve Evans will be who plays in goal – Cameron Dawson or Dillon Phillips?
Carl Brook from East Sussex has the whistle for this game.
