Rotherham United’s first foray into the Bristol Street Motors Trophy this season sees League One Mansfield Town the opponents at the New York Stadium.

The Millers will come into this game on the back of a goalless draw at the weekend at home to Bristol Rovers – although shots towards goal will please the management, just need to get them on target now.

Mansfield also got a home draw in a game that saw them twice ahead against Burton Albion but only a penalty late into time added on saw them get a point from the game.

Millers Boss Steve Evans was dismayed with the chances that his side missed at the weekend but said, ‘The dressing room is in a really good place and it’s my job to continue to work on the patterns and shapes we are working on but it ultimately comes down to if our players can score a goal and we will continue to work on that on the training ground.’

Sean Raggett and Joe Rafferty won’t make this game while Zak Jules could make his debut but Joseph Hungbo is a doubt. Mallik Wilks who came off the bench on Saturday could make his full debut. But Steve Evans has said he won’t risk anyone and there will be changes from the weekend.

Speaking to their Official Site Stags Manager Nigel Clough said that his side have to keep the ball better and defend better than they did at the weekend. ‘First and foremost our aim is to win. But it’s also a chance to build up some players minutes wise but we won’t risk anyone whose got knocks from Saturday.’

Injuries to Rhys Oates, Alfie Kilgour, George Maris, Baily Cargill and Frazer Blake-Tracy keep them out of the game. Scott Flinders is set to play in goal

The Referee for this game is Scott Jackson.
