Rotherham United play their second South Yorkshire derby in a week when Doncaster Rovers are the visitors to the New York Stadium on Saturday.

The Millers’ last derby didn’t go so well, losing two-nil at home to Sheffield Wednesday while Rovers got a home draw with Portsmouth.

It’s early days in the season with Rotherham starting this game in eleventh place with six points while Rovers first point of the season at the weekend sees them in the bottom four.

Millers’ Manager Paul Warne told theĀ Radio Sheffield that he has enjoyed watching his team this year saying, ‘we need to keep creating chances and hopefully the goals will come. We need to turn good performances into wins. I think Doncaster are a very good side who will cause us all sorts of problems and Richie Wellens teams will always want to play.’

Curtis Tilt is on the mend and could get some game time against Rovers but not in the league in the Trophy game coming up soon. The Millers will be missing Chieo Ogbene who had to come off early in last weekends game with a muscle injury and there is a slight doubt over Shane Ferguson.

Also speaking to Radio Sheffield Rovers’ Boss Richie Wellens said that they will be taking confidence from their midweek game in the League Cup against Stoke into this game saying, ‘our performances so far have deserved more than what we’ve got. Rotherham are a team that historically do well in this division and they have three big centre-halves and two centre-forwards who are big and physical as well as good midfield players. But we have good footballers and we need to impact our style on them.’

Rovers will be without their captain Tom Anderson as well as Jordy Hiwula, Fejiri Okenabirhi and former Miller Jon Taylor all who have long term injuries while John Bostock is also a major doubt. There are also questions marks over Ro-Shaun Williams, Cameron John, Kyle Knoyle, Ethan Galbraith and Tiago Cukur with injuries ranging from bad knees to tiredness.

The referee for this game is Martin Coy from County Durham.

Quick reminder that this game is a 1pm kick-off.
