Quick Preview – Millers v Potters

|

Rotherham United travel to Staffordshire to take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium this afternoon.

The Millers last away game was a devastating six-one loss against Derby while Stoke’s last home game was a goalless draw against Rotherham neighbours Sheffield Wednesday.

Sitting in mid-table the Potters lost their last game away at Swansea with Rotherham who come into this game in the last of the relegation places lost at home against Aston Villa.

City will be without suspended Tom Edwards but Bruno Martins Indi is available after his red card was rescinded. Although Ryan Shawcross could be in the squad to face the Millers after injury, Tom Ince and Moritz Bauer is a doubt.

Millers Manager Paul Warne and Stoke Manager Nathan Jones played together at Yeovil with Jones telling StokeonTrentLive that he always thought Warne would go into management because ‘he’s a very methodical, laid back philosophical character.’

‘I know Nath really well,’ Warney told iFOLLOW, ‘and he did really well at Luton and I expect Stoke to be a really different team next season after he’s had a pre-season with them. As it is it’s going to be a very tough afternoon for us but we have to try and impose ourselves on the game.’

After missing the game in mid-week Billy Jones could be in the travelling squad for the Millers but Joe Newell is struggling with Paul Warne expecting to make some changes.

Andy Woolmer from Northamptonshire has the whistle this afternoon.
