Quick Preview – Millers v Lions

|

The Easter weekend sees Rotherham United start with a trip to the Den to take on Millwall who are twelve places and seventeen points better off than them.

Last month saw the Lions get nine points from fifteen with six of those points coming at home and three away. Their last home game was just before the international break when a one-nil victory against Middlesbrough saw them get all three points.

The Millers only managed three games last month, due to Covid-19 in the camp, but got six points, both wins coming away from home the last one being a two-nil win at Bristol City.

Millwall will be without Matt Smith and Ryan Leonard while both Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Shane Ferguson will be assessed before the game after returning from International duty. After training this week Kenneth Zohore and Maikel Kieftenbeld will both be included in the squad.

Rotherham are hoping to have some of their long term injured back shortly with Chieo Ogbene and Jamie Lindsay available to travel for this game. Clark Robertson might make the trip but Joe Mattock is still a couple of days away.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Millers Boss Paul Warne said that his players are looking forward to the challenge that this month is going to bring them saying about Friday’s game, ‘It should be a competitive game where both teams are going to get the win. They (Millwall) are really good at set-pieces and have height and strength at the back and they don’t concede many goals. Millwall will see any home game a chance for them to get three points and we will have to be ready for that.’

John Brooks from Melton Mowbray is the referee this afternoon.
