Quick Preview – Millers v Lilywhites

|

Rotherham United go into this Saturday’s game at home to Preston North End in nineteenth place in the Championship having lost their last two games one-nil.

Meanwhile the Lilywhites are seven places and four points above the Millers and come into this game having won their last four away games the last one being a very impressive three-nil win away at top placed Reading.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Rotherham Boss Paul Warne answered a question a lot of us fans have been wondering about playing two up front saying, ‘We’ve played two up front in two or three games and used substitutions to change to two up front and, up to now, have been unsuccessful in gaining any points playing like that but I do like two up front, especially at home, so it’s not something we’ve completely forgotten about.’ So, I’m guessing we won’t be playing two up front against Preston. The Millers Boss also said that he thinks this weekends game will be ‘competitive’.

The Millers will be without long term injured Chieo Ogbene and Clark Robertson and now Shaun MacDonald who was diagnosed with a broken leg earlier in the week. Also missing is Joe Mattock who came off early in the mid-week game with a hamstring injury. The Gaffer says there is another injury problem but declined to say who it is.  Having brought in goalkeeper Josh Vickers today could we see him start tomorrow or may be on the bench?

Preston will be without Andrew Hughes and Ben Davies but former Miller Darnell Fisher, who was out for a month with a hamstring injury, managed the whole game in mid-week so is expected to start while Patrick Bauer could get some minutes on the pitch.

Lillywhites Manager Alex Neil says that the New York Stadium isn’t an easy place to come to telling their Official Site that he has seen a lot of Rotherham’s games this season and has been ‘impressed’ with what he saw. ‘They will be relatively direct getting balls into the box and they will be aggressive.’

Andy Davies from Hampshire is the referee for this game.
