Quick Preview – Millers v Ipswich Town

|

Rotherham United will be hoping to take back the top spot in League One from this evenings visitors Ipswich Town who went above the Millers on Saturday.

The Millers come into this evenings game on the back of a two-one defeat away at Peterborough although their last three home league games have seen them score nine goals in three wins.

Ipswich took top spot from Rotherham with a one-nil home win over Lincoln City while their last away game was a two-one win at Tranmere with their last away defeat being the end of December at Lincoln City.

Millers Manager Paul Warne said that Rotherham won’t be dwelling on the defeat at the weekend telling iF0LLOW that he thought the better team won and the Millers weren’t at their best but he is hoping to get back to winning ways this evening saying, ‘It’s first v second and it’s a right game. They are in a good run of form and so are we so it will be two teams really going for it. It will be a hard game for both team and hopefully the best team wins.’

Rotherham will be hoping to have Saturday’s missing pair Kyle Vassell and Matt Crooks back in contention for tonight. Coming back from injury Sean MacDonald came off the bench at the weekend and he will be hoping to get more game time and Adam Thompson is back from suspension.

Tractor Boys’ Manager Paul Lambert told TWTD that he’s expecting a hard game and wasn’t expecting them to be affected by Saturday’s loss saying, ‘they’ve got too much experience for that. Physically they’re very, very strong and their set plays are really good and not being the tallest side we have to come up with a way of combatting that. But, equally, it’s going to be a hard game for them.’

Paul Lambert could change things around a little but there are no new injury worries for the Tractor Boys.

Tonights Referee is Marc Edwards from County Durham.
