Rotherham United make the short journey into Humberside to take on Hull City for this April Fool’s Day game.

City start this game in fifteenth place in the Championship, five places above the Millers and eight points better off.

Hull drew their last game which was away against Reading with their last home game being a three-one loss to promotion candidates Burnley. Their last home win was at the beginning of March when they got the better of West Bromwich Albion.

The Millers’ last game before the international break saw them losing to Cardiff at the New York Stadium when the game had to be abandoned after biblical rainfall made the pitch unplayable. The last away game was at the Select Car Leasing Stadium which saw Reading win two-one.

Speaking to their Official Site, Tigers’ Manager Liam Rosenior said that his players have come back from the international break ‘raring to go’. Continuing he said, ‘They (Rotherham) have always been the underdogs in this league but I think they have really improved (since we played them earlier in the season) and Matt (Taylor) is doing a great job but I expect us to play our way and dominate the game.’

Hosts City will be without Cyrus Christie with a knee injury and Dimitrios Pelkas is also very doubtful after having food poisoning but good news for Hull is that both Matt Ingram and Ryan Woods will be back.

‘Hull are a good footballing side,’ Rotherham Boss Matt Taylor told the Official Site. ‘and they move the ball really well. The MKM is a top stadium with a good pitch and Hull are a strong team with not many weaknesses in their squad. What we are hoping for is a good game of football that we can play a part in. What we’ve got to do is make sure that one or two defeats don’t turn into three or four. We do know what we are working towards and that won’t happen this season.’

The Millers could have Domingos Quina back in contention for this game but Ollie Rathbone is still a doubt. Ben Wiles is ahead of schedule but not close enough for this game.

The referee is Lancashire’s David Webb.
