Rotherham United welcome Stockport County for the last game of 2024 this afternoon at the New York Stadium.
The Millers last two games have both ended in one-nil losses – the first away at Mansfield and on Boxing Day at home to Wigan Athletic. County also lost their Boxing Day game away to Huddersfield Town but won their last home game two-one over Peterborough United.
After being promoted as Champions of League Two last season Stockport are currently sitting in fifth place of League One with thirty-six points while the Millers are thirteen points below them with twenty-three points.
It is hoped that Zak Jules will have recovered from a chest infection to be in the Rotherham squad for this game but Christ Tiehi has a shoulder and face injury and is a major doubt. Long term injured Sean Raggett isn’t expected to make this game. Having late fitness tests will be Sam Nombe and Jamie McCart who were both ‘feeling’ something in the last game.
Leigh Doughty from Lancashire has the whistle this lunch time.
