Quick Preview – Millers Away At Swansea

|

Rotherham United make the long trek down to Wales for the Good Friday game with Swansea City which will be the seventieth league meeting between the two sides.

Making no bones about it the Millers go into this game needing points – three would be a bit of a god send while one would be better than nowt as we say round these parts. The Swans haven’t a lot to play for to be honest except pride – which is always worth playing for.

The Swans last home game was a three-one win over Stoke City with the Millers last away fixture on Saturday seeing them come from two down to get a point over the same club.

Swansea Manager Graham Potter told Twitter that he expects the Millers to make it tough on Friday.

City have had some good news in that Leroy Fer has returned to training but Friday’s game will probably be too soon for him but winger Bersant Celina is definitely out.  Joe Rodon could be back in contention for some game time after being out injured for three months.

‘We did a snatch and grab on them at our place,’ Millers Boss Paul Warne admitted to
iFOLLOW also saying that the Swansea players can ‘all handle the ball’. ‘They are a formidable home side’ Warney carried on, ‘which could be a problem for us and we are going to have to try and silence the crowd.’

The Millers have no new injuries ahead of the first of the Easter games and have been in Cardiff today training.  After coming off the bench and making an impact last Saturday it could be that Matt Crooks gets a rare start.

Keith Stroud of Hampshire has the whistle for this game.
