Quick Preview – Millers Away At MK Dons

|

Rotherham United travel to Buckinghamshire at the weekend to take on MK Dons which is fifth takes on sixth in the league.

MK Dons come into this game on the back of a good away win at Wigan with their last home league game being a three-all draw with Fleetwood Town. Rotherham will be hoping to make this their eighth unbeaten game in a row their last away league game being a two-nil win at Cheltenham Town.

The hosts will be without Ethan Robson who has a hamstring injury and David Kasumu is also doubtful after limping off on Tuesday night against Wigan while Daniel Harvie is suspended.

Dons Manager Liam Manning spoke to their Official Site ahead of the game saying that they have done their homework on Rotherham and will be prepared for whatever the Millers do. ‘They are extremely physical and play forward with quality and intensity,’ he said. ‘We will have to match that and hopefully that will allow our style to come out.’

The Millers could be without captain Richard Wood who got a knock on Tuesday night. Ben Wiles is feeling unwell and is also a doubt as is Mickel Miller who has a foot problem while Ollie Rathbone is suffering from exhaustion and Joe Mattock is having a scan on an ankle injury that saw him leave the pitch early in Tuesday’s game. But Michael Ihiekwe should be fit to play and Jamie Lindsay is getting closer but not close enough for Saturday’s trip.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Millers Boss Paul Warne said that MK Dons are a ‘real footballing side’ saying, ‘Liam (Manning) has got them playing really well. They beat Wigan away mid-week which is a phenomenal result and it’s going to be a really tough ask. We are probably going to have to prepare the team in a different way which is what you have to do if you are going to have a good season. We will be well prepared.’

Saturday’s referee is Staffordshire’s Christopher Sarginson.
