Rotherham United host Sunderland on Saturday which will be the first League game the Black Cats have played at the New York Stadium.

Paul Warne’s team are free-scoring at the moment and will be hoping to make this their eleventh game without defeat while Sunderland come into this game one place and one point above the Millers. They won away to Queens Park Rangers in midweek in the League Cup on penalties with their last away league loss being at the beginning of the month at Portsmouth.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Millers Manager Paul Warne that he is expecting a really good game that both teams will try to win saying, ‘They (Sunderland) flood the box really well, they are really strong down the middle of the pitch and are a good side who can keep the ball. We are really strong on the outside of the pitch and have a really formidable midfield three. Both teams are on good form.’

The only new problem Rotherham look to have is a foot injury to Mickel Miller and he will be assessed nearer kick-off. The Millers will be without Will Grigg who can’t play against his parent club and it could be either Freddie Ladapo or Joshua Kayode who takes his place.

Speaking to Sunderland AFC Manager Lee Johnson is expecting a tough game tomorrow. He carried on saying, ‘Warney, first and foremost is a really good guy but he’s also a really good manager. It’s a tough but good game for us with their experience of being in the Championship. We will be attempting to get three points and push up the league.

The visitors will be without Denver Hume who has an ankle injury and Nathan Broadhead has an hamstring problem while there are other players with bumps and bruises from Tuesday night’s game with QPR. Elliot Embleton will be back after suspension.

Hertfordshire’s David Rock is the referee for this game.
