Rotherham United’s last home game of the season sees Blackburn Rovers the visitors to the New York Stadium.

The Millers are in the poor position of third from bottom in the Championship, although with a game in hand and a win against Rovers and losses for others around them – well, let’s just say it’s not impossible. Blackburn are seven places and fourteen points better off than their hosts.

Blackburn won their last game, at home to Huddersfield, five-two but lost their last away game, also in South Yorkshire, one-nil at Hillsborough. Rotherham have lost their five games, their last home win coming in the second week of April when Queens Park Rangers were the visitors losing three-one.

Assistant Manager Richie Barker told Rotherham United’s Official Site that it will be difficult to know what side Blackburn’s Manager will put out saying, ‘The three teams that we’re playing between now at the end of the season are pretty safe in midtable, but that does not mean it will be an easy game by any stretch. Players are still playing for contracts and Blackburn have been playing really well so we know it will be a tough test.’

Matt Crooks is still missing for the Millers due to suspension and they will make a late decision on goalkeeper Viktor Johansson who is under concussion protocols after an eye injury forced him off early in the game at Oakwell and if he doesn’t make it Jamal Blackman will be in goal again. It’s not looking good for centre-back Clark Robertson who has had a long lay-off with injury came back but hasn’t featured in the last three games.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph Rovers Manager Tony Mowbray said that watching Rotherham made him realise that they are in every game saying, ‘they are fighting for every inch on the pitch and they make life difficult for every team. They probably don’t have individuals who can stick it through someone’s legs but they have some fantastically honest, hardworking pros who make life very difficult.

Despite limping off last weekend against Huddersfield Ryan Nyambe could be involved but long-termed injured Joe Rankin-Costello, Scott Wharton and Bradley Dack are definitely out.

Tony Harrington from Cleveland has the whistle for this game.

Echoing another Birmingham City supporter who wished you well last week. Count me in too. Your players have guts and desire. We lost that under Karanka but since Bowyer came in we have got our club back. Your manager is decent so don’t lose him. We have lost a few good’uns over the seasons. Prediction: Rotherham v Blackburn (home win). Swansea v Derby (home win) Sheffield Wed.v Nottingham Forest ( goalless draw). Hope and Belief.

Well, thanks Mitchell for your kind words, great when supporters from other teams in the same league as you want you to stay in the competition. And you were right with two of your predictions – but not the ours, sadly. We did try though!
