Quick Papa John’s Trophy Preview – Millers v Valiants

|

Rotherham United leave the league behind for the next two games and tonight sees Port Vale at the New York Stadium in the Papa John’s Trophy.

The Millers come into this game on the back of a goalless draw away at Oxford and hoping to keep their unbeaten run of sixteen games intact.

Vale had a home win against Hartlepool at the weekend with their last away game being a five goal thriller at Oldham which they lost after twice going in front.

Millers Manager Paul Warne told the Official Site is expecting Port Vale to come full of confidence saying, ‘Darrell (Clarke) has done a good job there and they had a good win at the weekend so I am expecting a competitive game. We take this competition seriously and will prepare properly and go out there to win another game.’

With having an FA Cup game on Friday night Rotherham could take the chance to rest some of the more regular players. There is no news of any new injuries.

Missing through injury for the Valiants are former Miller Jamie Proctor, James Wilson, George Lloyd and Jake Taylor.

Referee for tonight’s game is Peter Wright from Merseyside.
