Quick Millers Injury Update

Rotherham United are hoping that the injury that forced midfielder Dan Barlaser to be stretchers off on Tuesday night in the draw against Coventry City will only keep him out for a couple of weeks.

Speaking to iFOLLOW Millers Manager Paul Warne said that the Newcastle United loanee has had one scan which was ‘really positive’ but will have to be scanned again in the next few days when the swelling has gone down.

‘There doesn’t appear to be any ligament damage,’ the Gaffer said, ‘but they are going to have to wait for the swelling to go down and reassess. So far it’s good news and maybe he might only be out a week, ten days, two weeks as oppose to three months. We are hopeful that Dan will be back soon.’

The twenty-three year old joined the Millers on a season long loan from St James’ Park in the summer and has made thirty-five appearances in a Rotherham shirt scoring twice in the League and, I think it’s fair to say, has been invaluable at set-pieces while coming on in leaps and bounds since the opening few games.

Let’s hope his injury is only minor and he’s soon back on the pitch.

The Millers Boss said that there were a few aches and pains amongst the squad saying Matt Olosunde has a sore knee and Matt Crooks’ quad was sore but no other injuries.

The Millers are also hoping to get a game into Billy Jones, who has been out injured since the end of November with hamstring problems while centre-half Clark Robertson is still suffering with a foot injury he sustained while coming back from stomach surgery and is a doubt for the rest of the season. Josh Kayode is also back with the Millers from his loan spell with Carlisle with a hamstring problem but it’s hoped he will soon be back with the Cumbrians.
