Possible Retribution If We Don’t Play Game

Rotherham United’s game against local rivals Barnsley looks like going ahead tomorrow despite the Millers having had five players/staff members tested positive for Covid-19.

The Millers had already had two games postponed – at home to Derby County on the 19th of December and away at Middlesbrough on Boxing Day but it seems that advice given by the powers who be is that the club have enough players for the game tomorrow evening to take place.

‘I don’t want the game off,’ the Millers Manager Paul Warne told the Yorkshire Post, ‘but, in the circumstances I do feel a little bit on the hard end of the decision.

‘I was advised that if we did not play the game, there would be retribution because I am going against medical advice. The medical advice is that nine days isolation is enough as I have enough players in the football club to get the game on. That would be a fine with the possibility of a points deduction.’

The Millers were advised not to play or train for ten days meaning the players and staff haven’t met since 18th December until the 27th when another player had symptoms and with the EFL Labs closed had to take an NHS test and is still waiting for the results.

I think there is little doubt that the Millers are not going to be at their best tomorrow night and also that we are not going to have enough fit players to fill the bench.

Not fair is it but we’ve got through difficult times before (remember our five-nil win at Peterborough one Boxing Day when most of our players had flu?) so I’m sure we will pull together and get through this. It’s just a pity us fans can’t be there to lift the lads up.

Up The Millers.

Give over, Stuart. What else will you have to moan about!!! Being a Miller is never ever going to be easy and there will be bad times but there will also be good times again.

Ive been a fan for 60 years but never thought about pulling the plug. there as always been good and bad managers and good and bad teams but I have always stuck with them. I must admit warns yo yo team are not the best but i cant see the chairman sacking him when he think the sun shines out of is backside, and he is also a cheap option he did not want the job in the first place the chaiirmans got to have a big change of mind to get rid I do hope yoy change your mind stuart keep safe C IN L
