Rotherham United have had two pieces of good news at the beginning of the week – striker Kyle Vassell should be ready to return to full time training and defender Clark Robertson could be in the match squad that travels to take on Derby County on Saturday.

After a hamstring injury kept Robertson out of the games against Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City, he should be ready to fight for a starting place this coming weekend although he will have to oust Michael Ihiekwe who has been on top form recently.

Last weekend saw Darren Potter play in a reserve game. The midfielder’s last game was in December 2017 which he hobbled out of after just twenty-three minutes with an ankle injury followed by a second injury keeping him sidelined until now.

Vassell has played twenty-three games for the Millers this season, but has been out with a groin injury since the beginning of February so it can only be good news that the former Blackpool forward is back training.
