Rotherham United have signed one up this afternoon at the same time as sending another back out on loan.

Young Academy attacker Jacob Gratton has signed his first professional contract, subject to EFL and FA ratification, which keeps him with the Millers until 2022.

Jacob has been with the club since the age of nine and In recent months the eighteen year old, who was brought up in Rotherham, has been training with the first team.

Congratulations Jacob!

On the move away from the New York Stadium is Joshua Kayode, again  subject to EFL and FA ratification, who has joined League Two side outfit Carlisle United until the end of the season.

JJ played for the Millers in the Football League Trophy game against Doncaster Rovers and has been on loan to non-league Gateshead since early August where he made twenty-seven appearances scoring nine times.

He was recalled from the Gateshead International Stadium and signed a new deal with Rotherham which takes him into 2022 and will now have the chance to test himself against League opposition with the Cumbrians who are currently twenty-first in League Two.

    why bring a player back from lone give him a two year contact then send him out again. dont understand it I thought our coaching staff were there to bring players on keep them at rotherham and they are there if we need them . well peed off CLT

      I know CinL and I agree. Then again I understand that JJ probably won’t get in the team ahead of the forwards we have playing at the minute so to go out and get game time in a League team will be good for him. I actually feel a bit sorry for Gateshead in all this.
