Rotherham United’s new signing, Ollie Rathbone says that one of the reason he has come to the New York Stadium is to keep developing and keep improving.

Speaking to iFollow after signing on for three years Ollie said that he’d spoken to Paul Warne who had told him how he likes to develop players saying, ‘I think this is the best place for me. When you look at some of the players who have come through here and done very well Rotherham has a very proud history of developing players.

Ollie’s dad has worked with the Millers’ number two Richie Barker and told his son that he is a ‘great coach, a great guy’ which, after meeting him, Ollie agrees with.

Having been to the training ground Ollie said, ‘I thought it was a great set-up and the stadium speaks for itself, it’s brilliant. It’s a Championship set-up here and everyone is aiming to get back there.’

Going on to describe himself the twenty-four year old said, ‘I have high energy, I get on the ball and try to make things happen but I don’t mind doing the defensive side of the game as well.

‘I’m delighted to be here in time for the start of the season.’

And we are delighted to have you, Ollie.
