Torquay were, on Tuesday, forced to issue an ’embarrassing’ apology to Tom Newey.

In their matchday programme at the weekend they printed that ‘Newey had been fined for inciting fans after a match at Northampton in April 2011,’ a statement that was not true…

As a result The Miller defender was issued an official apology with The Gulls releasing this statement on their official website.

This included this line: ‘this was completely false and we sincerely apologise for any upset or embarrassment caused. And the moral of the story…never trust Wikipedia!’

There you have it proof that not all on t’internet is true, and with Wikipedia open to the public to ‘edit’ no wonder not all of this info on it is entirely factual…
