No Decision Means More Meetings

Rotherham United are still no further forward in knowing what is happening with this current season.

Coronavirus halted the season in March and since then there have been meetings and rumours about what is going to happen including finishing the season as soon as possible, putting an end to the season and letting things stand regarding the top three and bottom three going up and down and another option was making the season null and void.

Whichever the EFL decided to do it wouldn’t please every club and yesterday Peterborough United Chairman Darragh MacAnthony spoke for five other clubs as well as his own saying they were intent on finishing the season come what may.

In a conference call meeting today between the EFL and League One and Two clubs the BBC say they understand things didn’t go well and there was no decision made with more meetings scheduled over the weekend and on Monday.

I realise that there has to be a majority of clubs who agree with any decision made but there are forty-seven clubs in League One and Two and, from what we are hearing, only six that are making things difficult (maybe that’s too harsh a word?) so, if that isn’t a majority of those who agree I don’t know what is.

Whatever we all think I really do believe that it’s time a decision was made by the EFL and all clubs stick by it.

FOOTNOTE – It seems that the LEAGUE TWO clubs have actually voted to end the season now with the table is set to be decided using a weighted points-per-game method, while the play-offs would be played as usual.  The EFL and FA have to discuss this further.

Stay Safe.

Up The Millers.

It’s time the EFL made the decision, CinL, and stuck to it – no messing, no kowtowing to ‘some clubs’.

caz reading coventry live this morning it seems that over the weekend some teams have been swayed to play the season to a end. read the article on coventry live and you will see what i mean keep alert cil

Yes, I saw that too CinL – although if you look at the Football League World it says that us and Coventry are to be promoted. Nobody will know until it’s been decided and I dread to think when that will be.
