Rotherham United welcome Chesterfield to the New York Stadium this evening for the next game in the Checkatrade Trophy competition.

In their first game in this competition this season the Spireites lost four-two to Bradford at the Proact Stadium while the Millers lost out on penalties at the New York Stadium to a Manchester City U21 side.

Rotherham come into this game on the back of a one-nil home win while Chesterfield, who are under new management, lost to Cheltenham two-nil.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Warne – I want to win this game but I won’t risk players if I don’t have to. It will give the fans an opportunity to look at some of the players who have been on the periphery this season.

Jack Lester – I think it`s a good fixture for us, in terms of seeing as many players that I can and that`s what I`ll do. We’re expecting a tough game but it always is away at Rotherham.

Rotherham United Team News:

Paul Warne has said that he will make changes for this game with some of the players who have been on the fringes getting an outing. It is likely that Manny Onariase will get his first game in a Millers shirt but the game has probably come a few days early for David Ball. Richard O’Donnell will probably be in goal for this one.

Player to watch: Manny Onariase

Will be interesting to see the defender in a home shirt for the first time this evening

Chesterfield Team News:

After completing a three-match ban it is expected that Bradley Barry will play some part this evening. The Spireites will be without midfielder Connor Dimaio who is away on International duty and after picking up slight injuries at the weekend both Tommy Lee and Sam Hird will have late checks.

Player to watch: Chris O’Grady

Much travelled striker who once called Millmoor his home might be in Jack Lester’s plans this evening
