Steve Thornber’s first game in charge as caretaker manager for Rotherham is against Morecambe at Don Valley tomorrow afternoon and he says he is enjoying it so far. He also says training has been positive and the players have done well. The Millers will be looking for another win tomorrow to keep them at the top of League Two.
Morecambe haven’t faired as well as the Millers so far and lie third bottom in the league, not having won a game yet this season.
John Thornber – Morecambe are a good side. Any side that can go three-nil up against Rochdale can cause problems. But, of course, any side that can let a three goal lead slip have their weaknesses
Sammy McIlroy – Rotherham are going well at the moment and will be confident but I know we have a side that can match them all the way
Good news for the Millers is that Tom Pope trained this week, after it was thought he would have a lengthy lay of with an ankle injury and could be called on. Mickey Cummins could be in the squad too
Quick, fast and tricky
Midfielder Fraser McLachlan is out long term and Sammy McIlroy will probably keep Paul Mullin and Phil Jevons up front.
On loan from Huddersfield, Phil Jevons is a natural goalscorer and adds to the team with his link-up play
Darren Deadman from Cheshunt
The Millers play away at Cheltenham next Saturday, 19th September and it is a 3.00pm kick off
