Millers v Preston Preview

|

Rotherham United travel to Deepdale this afternoon to take on Preston North End for the fifty-first league meeting between the two.

The Millers go into this game with thirteen points from fourteen games the last away game being on Tuesday where they got their first away point of the season at Middlesbrough. Preston are on the same points as the Millers and two places above them after winning a seven goal thriller at home in mid-week against Brentford.

Preston Boss Alex Neil told the Lancashire Post that Rotherham are ‘well organised and are going to be a real threat’.

North End will give a fitness test to Tom Clarke ahead of today’s game but after missing the last two games with a groin injury this game could be too early for him. Long term injured Josh Harrop and Billy Bodin are still out.

Rotherham Manager Paul Warne spoke to iFOLLOW expects it to be a good game this afternoon.

The Millers are looking to have Jon Taylor and Billy Jones back after missing the draw at Middlesbrough. Skipper Richard Wood was on the bench for Tuesday nights game and could be fit to start today although that would probably mean Clark Robertson moving to the bench which the management might not want to do after his performance in mid-week.

Jeremy Simpson from Lancashire has the whistle this afternoon.

Millers supporters will be able to buy tickets at Deepdale this afternoon from the away end ticket office at the Bill Shankly Kop where both cash and card payments are accepted.
