Millers v Man City U21 Stats

Rotherham United beat a Manchester City U21 side in the Papa John Trophy last night at the New York Stadium scoring five goals and keeping a clean sheet.

But, they didn’t have it all their own way as the stats will tell us.

The visitors actually had sixty-two per cent of possession although the Millers won fifty-five per cent of the aerial duels.

Both sides have seven corners apiece and our passing accuracy in our opponents half was fifty-nine per cent – City’s being eighty-five per cent. The Millers conceded nineteen fouls to the visitors twelve while the hosts got four yellow cards to City’s one.

Attack wise we had twenty-one shots at goal, seven on target (five in the net) with fourteen of those being inside the box to our opponents four on target from twenty shots.

Good to see some of the youngsters get a run out yesterday and also the likes of Sadlier, JJ, Odoffin and Miller. I know I always moan about this competition (I’ve always said it should be played pre-season instead of friendlies) but it does give chances to get ninety minutes into the lads.
