The Millers dropped back into the relegation zone of Division One after a poor first half display today against Oldham Athletic.

Chris Porter after 29 minutes and Will Haining four minutes before the break gave the Latics a deserved two goal lead at the end of the first half. But it could have been different if Delroy Facey had not hit his shot straight at Oldham keeper, Les Pogliacomi, just after the Latics had taken the lead.

Much sought after striker, Will Hoskins, also had a good opportunity to put the Millers in front early in the game, but his control let him down badly after a good cross from Richie Partridge.

The Millers came out for the second half looking much the better side and Eugen Bopp pulled one back in the 54th minute. The home team seemed to come to life after the goal and Oldham were penned back in their own penalty area as the Millers turned on the pressure. But it was the visitors who pushed out and Porter, leaving the Millers defence in disarray, coolly put the ball passed a stranded Neil Cutler for his second and the visitors third of the game.

In the 80th minute, Pogliacomi saved from Facey but the loose ball went to Simon Charlton who handled and referee Mr Olivier pointed to the penalty spot. Up stepped Will Hoskins to slam the ball past the keeper to give the Millers a lifeline.

For the final 10 minutes the home team pushed forward but it was to no avail as the visitors held onto the 3-2 score line, which leaves the Millers in the bottom four.
