Rotherham United take on Scunthorpe United at the New York Stadium this afternoon which will be The Iron’s first league visit here.

The Iron come into this game on the back of a home loss last weekend against Wigan Athletic while Rotherham got their second away win of the season away at Rochdale.

The Millers last home league game saw them get a one-nil victory against Northampton Town with Scunthorpe’s last away game being against League One leaders Shrewsbury Town where they lost two-nil.

Vital Quotes:

Paul Warne – Scunthorpe have both youth and experience in the side and the Manager has got them really well organised. They will be a hard team to break down.

Graham Alexander – I expect a tough physical game and we will have to compete at a really high level to make sure we can get our game going and get playing how we want to play.

Rotherham United Team News:

The Millers will be without winger Jon Taylor for this afternoon’s game but surprisingly after being helped from the pitch after just four minutes last week, skipper Lee Frecklington has an outside chance of making it. Also on the mend is Joe Newell who should get some game time this afternoon but defender Ben Purrington is still suffering a hamstring injury. Good news for David Ball who seems to be now fit and well and will expect to get some game time this afternoon. With Richard O’Donnell keeping a clean sheet last weekend he might get the nod in goal ahead of returning U21 International Marek Rodak.

Player to watch: Ryan Williams

Had a Man of the Match performance at Rochdale last week and will be hoping to do the same against the Iron this afternoon

Scunthorpe United Team News:

Jonathan Margetts and Luke Williams are still out injured while Graham Alexander might want to give Clayton Lewis more time to settle in. After coming off last weekend with an ankle injury Tom Hopper is a doubt.

Player to watch: Josh Morris

Former Millers loanee midfielder Josh has helped out with a couple of goals already this season
