Rotherham United entertain Gillingham this afternoon at Don Valley with the Gills three points and one place better off than the Millers. Neither team came out of this long weekend games with what they needed, the Millers letting a two goal lead slide at Northampton to come away with just a point and the Gills losing their sixteen match unbeaten run at home to next to bottom in the league Barnet. Today could be the day for the Millers to win their first game at Don Valley since 15th February although I`m sure the Gills will want to bounce back after their bizarre loss on Saturday.
Andy Scott – we’ve got to make sure our own house is in order today and we’ve got to win the game then we are right in the mix again.
Andy Hessenthaler – I`ll pick a team of characters because that`s what we`ll need at Rotherham
Rotherham United Team News:
Both Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law are doubts today after coming off injured on Friday night at Sixfields. The only other problem for Andy Scott is whether to keep with Jamie Annerson in goal or put in the recovered Andy Warrington.
Player to watch: TomPope
Has done well since his return from Port Vale and is definitely due a Millers goal this afternoon, whether he starts or comes off the bench
Gillingham Team News:
Andy Hessenthaler will make changes after the surprise loss at home on Saturday and it`s more than probable that Kevin Maher will start while Joe Martin should be available after he missed the weekend game with a dead leg. Dennis Oli is out with a hamstring problem but Curtis Weston seems to have shaken off a knee injury and could be a surprise inclusion in the squad.
Player to watch: Cody McDonald
Cody joined the Gills on a season long loan in the summer and has proved to be invaluable in their promotion race, being top scorer with twenty-four goals – including two against the Millers in February
O Langford from the West Midlands
The Millers make the long journey to Aldershot next Saturday where it is a 3.00pm kick-off
