Rotherham United will be looking for a second win at home this week when bottom club Wycombe Wanderers travel to the New York Stadium this evening.
The Millers go into this game on the back of a four-two win at home to Cheltenham Town while Wycombe haven’t won a game since the middle of October, losing on Saturday at Northampton.
While the Millers are hoping to end the year in the top seven Wycombe find themselves rock bottom of the Football League for the first time ever in their history.
Steve Evans – I think Wycombe are in a false position and we are expecting a real tough night and we need to mentally prepare for it. I know Gareth Ainsworth as a player and he’s very quick and incredibly fit as well as powerful.
Paul Raynor – Some people won’t give Wycombe a chance coming here but they’ll be fighting and sometimes when you hit rock bottom you get a reaction
Gareth Ainsworth – We’ve got a big game on Tuesday so it`s about getting the lads and the spirits right ahead of Rotherham.
Rotherham United Team News:
Rotherham United are in the middle of an injury crisis with the latest player in the treatment room being defender Craig Morgan. It could be that Steve Evans starts with the same eleven that ended the first half with Michael O’Connor who replaced Morgan on Saturday starting in his place and Jason Taylor moving into the back four.
Player to watch: Lee Frecklington
Unless something can be sorted with Peterborough this will be the loanees last game for the Millers and he will want to go out in a blaze of glory
Wycombe Wanderers Team News:
Gareth Ainsworth could rotate his team for their first visit to the New York Stadium. Gary Doherty, Matthew Spring, Jo Kuffour and Anthony Stewart should be returning to training this week but tonight’s game comes too soon for them while Olly Taylor has gone out on loan to Hitchin Town
Player to watch: Joel Grant
Wycombe beat off a lot of competition to sign Joel in the summer of 2011 but he is well and truly in the side and is top scorer this season
