Rotherham United got their third home draw in a row yesterday when Bolton Wanderers got an eighty fifth minute equaliser at the New York Stadium after Will Vaulks had scored a cracking opening goal from a free-kick.

But, could it – should it – have been more?

Personally I think it should have been. Once again the Millers had a lot of chances and just how many times are we saying this? This is the Championship lads, you need to be taking those chances. We also had more possession than Bolton did and our passing accuracy was sixty-one per cent and fifty-three per cent in the opponents half.

We gave away a silly penalty, when it looked like the usual Mr Reliable, Richard Wood, just couldn’t keep up with his marking. Luckily, Marek Rodak was equal to the shot and palmed the ball away to safety.

Then for the equaliser. Joe Mattock hadn’t had a bad game but whether he was feeling the pressure, weary or just caught in two minds I don’t know but what I do know is that number one in the defending rule book is ‘don’t let the ball bounce twice.’

It seems to me that we sort one thing out and forget we’ve still got to remember the thing we sorted out the week before.

Oh well, onto Tuesday night when I am expecting a very tough game away at Middlesbrough.
